All problems are man-created (personal rut), and all blessings are from the Almighty
Let us face it – whatever troubles you are facing currently is your handiwork (personal rut)! And whatever blessings you have are gifts from the Almighty. No, I am not saying this. Almighty Allah states this in the Holy Quran. So, stop fretting and thank the Almighty for the countless and innumerable blessings from the Creator.
Yes, saying is one thing, and doing it is another!
Agreed, nothing comes easy in life. But it is not hard too. One must strive just a wee bit to improve one’s life. And lo and behold. You are halfway through. This is because “The quantity of action necessary to effect any change in nature is the least possible, the decisive amount is always a minimum, an infinitesimal” – this is called the ‘law of least action’and stated by Maupertius, the French Mathematician.
Just try doing one new thing every day
Just get out and explore the world. Yes, it is hard. The whole world appears gloomy. Nothing seems to work. But if you keep on trying, you will achieve success one day. The key is to change your habits that are not working. And move over to those that work. Of course, there is no guarantee that the new ones might! But at least, one can give it a try.
First, check your list of bad habits, once again, personal rut!
See, if you are addicted to pornography, masturbation, smoking, alcoholism (the mother of all evils according to Islam!), drugs of any kind, anger, etc. My late father used to always tell me that anger is a sign of weakness.
Yes, there are some people with stubborn pig-like attitudes you will see daily in your lives. They might be your immediate neighbor/s or someone whom you might encounter in your workplace. Yes, some people’s attitude is akin to a dog’s tail. You keep it for a million or even a zillion years in a pipe! But it will return to its crooked shape. But one must trust the Almighty. For, there might be a delay in the Almighty’s justice but there is no darkness! As they say in Hindi, “ऊपर वाले के घर में देर हो सकता है मगर अंधेर नहीं |”
The people who are a pain in the a$$ (PITA) in your lives will be shown a way out sooner or later from your lives. You must just wait and watch! Consider it a test of patience from the Almighty. An oft-repeated instruction by the Almighty Allah in the Holy Quran is Prayer and Patience. And this is beautifully stated in Surah 103, Al-Asr – “Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
- Wal ‘asr
- Innal insaana lafee khusr
- Illal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa tawaasaw bilhaqqi wa tawaasaw bissabr”
Get up before sunrise no matter what!
It does not matter what time one sleeps in the night. But try getting up at the same time in the morning every day. Of course, ‘early to bed and early to rise’ should be one’s goal until his/her death! Exercise might seem boring to many. But once one makes it a habit, there is no stopping it.
Have a purpose in life and form an action plan to implement it
This can be anything close to your heart. But do something. If not anything, at least write in a notebook (physical/electronic) or type something on your computer. Many people have made a fortune out of even writing. That might appear very mundane to some! But trust me, everything is of use. If one molds it usefully.
So, get the hell out of your personal rut and achieve something great!
Kick your bad habits goodbye. And the biggest destroyer of everything is procrastination. Agreed, one might need some time. But if one is strong-headed and makes up their mind. Without worrying a lot about how it might turn out. Then success is certainly yours. The only thing you need to get out of is your rut! So, kick whatever habits are bogging you down. And catch life by its horns!
