Ramadan feels like just yesterday!
The mosques were full of Muslims.
Who turned up to pray like there was no tomorrow!
And were regular in all five prayers.
Not only that, they used to pray even the Taraweeh prayers
In huge numbers, so much so that many times they would spill outside!
And not just pray but also fast regularly
What with the fast acting as a shield against all sins!
But now the mosques are still filled with Muslims.
However, not as many as in Ramadan!
What happens to us that we are called ‘Ramadani’ Muslims?
Can’t we act as we acted in Ramadan?
And stay away from all sins, small and large!
I know saying is easier, but doing is difficult.
But we can still give it a try and regain the lost glory
Of the enormous piety and good deeds in general.
For starters, we can fast the six days of Shawwal
And earn the reward of fasting for the entire year!
Tell me, what better deal do you want from the Almighty
That you are shielded from sins for 365 days!
And even with the congregational prayers,
You can try at least the Fajr (morning) and Ishaan (night) prayers
Which are the most difficult for the hypocrites?
But if you knew how important these were, you would even come crawling!
Innumerable are the benefits for the believer
Who bears some hunger, thirst, and hardship in this world?
But the benefits will come in the hereafter.
And you shine as polished diamonds and rubies before your Lord on the day of Judgement!
This life is but a fleeting journey in the eternity of time.
It will be over in a jiffy, and the truth will reveal itself before you.
When the angel of death comes to take your soul, what will you have earned?
So, do as many good deeds as possible in this brief life of yours!
But remember, no matter how many good deeds you perform in this world
You need to earn the pleasure of the Almighty.
For He is the only One who can guarantee you a place in heaven or
The dark dungeons of hell to rot there forever!
