It seems people in the past used to live for nearly 950+ years. Prophet Noah lived until he attained 950 years! Prophet Adam (the first human being and first Prophet) lived until he was nearly 1000 years old. Similarly, Prophet Shoaib [Alaihi Salaam (A.S) meaning peace be upon him]-882 years, Prophet Saleh (A.S)-586 years, Prophet Zakkariya (A.S)-207 years, Prophet Ibrahim (A.S)-195 years, Prophet Sulayman (A.S)-150 yrs, Prophet ismail (A.S)-137 years, Prophet Yakub (A.S)-129 years, Prophet Musa (A.S)-125 years, Prophet Ishaq (A.S)-120 years, Prophet Harun (A.S)-119 years, Prophet Yusuf (A.S)-110 years, Prophet Isah (A.S)- 33 years and finally the seal of the Prophet, Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him)-63 years. May Allah bless them all. Aameen. So, since people in the olden ages lived until such ripe ages, Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) asked Allah how could Muslims achieve such piety in their short lifespans? And thus, Allah gave Laylatul Qadr (the blessed night)!
